   The Hibel Museum Gallery

can help you to identify your art work as well as give you insurance appraisals.

In order for us to assist you in making an identification of your art work we will need certain information from you.

1. We need the size, kind of material it is on (paper, canvas, board, etc.).

2. Is there any writing on the piece?

3. Is it hand signed in pencil, oil or ink?

4. Does it have any numbers or the words (Artist Proof, Artist Proof and Pastels or Unique Lithograph and oil etc?)

5. Is it an original oil or drawing?

6. Is it under glass?

The more information you give us the better.

We will need a photograph sent via e-mail to info@hibelmuseum.org or mail photo to Hibel Museum of Art, FAU Campus, 5353 Parkside Drive Jupiter, Florida 33458

If you want to bring your artwork in to be identified please call and speak to a staff member before doing so to make an appointment.

Staff members are not allowed to give prices or information without seeing photographs on unknown artwork.

Please make sure to include your contact information: Name, address, daytime phone number or E-mail address.

Upon receiving this information we will let you know as much information as we can about the piece via phone or e-mail.

We give written appraisals for insurance purposes only.

(This is what it would cost to replace what you have.) Many of Edna’s lithographs are sold out and any Artist Proofs, Artist Proofs and Pastels or Unique and Oils are one of kinds and can not be replaced. All of Edna’s oils are one of a kind. We can only tell you what an oil of that size and technique would cost today if you were to purchase it from us.

Again our appraisals are for insurance purpose only

After receiving the information we will contact you to let you know what the fee is. If you agree and would like the information in writing you will be asked to send the signed form, (signed by the owner of the artwork ) along with the fee to the museum. A written appraisal for insurance purposes will be sent to you.

The Hibel Museum Gallery does on occasion take original oils in on consignment if you are interested in doing this please call 561-622-1380 Tuesday – Friday 12pm – 3pm and speak to Carol for details.

We do not take in any other types of consignments. (no exceptions)

Donating your Artwork:

If you are interested in donating your collection to The Hibel Museum of Art to receive a tax write off please contact Nancy@hibelmuseum.org or phone 561-622-5560. Details can be sent to you on what needs to be done.

Identifying your collection:

If you have a Hibel collection (plates, porcelains, books, etc) and you would like to have your items identified we will be happy to try and assist you with that information. Please follow the instructions above and we will call with the information. Please note that sometimes it takes a while to identify things, and it may not always be possible to find out what or when certain things were done. We will attempt to help as much as we can.

Selling your collection or artwork:

If you are interested in trying to sell any of your art work or collection we suggest that you contact a local gallery in your area or place an ad in the paper. E-bay can be done but it  may not yield a good turn around. If you are patient and keep trying to contact people through other means you may find it will work to your advantage.
